The headline is a bit confusing or seems too philosophical. Known Unknown.
As we go about our routines, we come across numerous individuals and places, forming a part of our personal world. Those things unknowingly form a part of our world which we seldom talk about to anyone. This world is totally ours, very personal.
The moment we step out of the house, we see the sweeper doing his job, just a nod wishing each other and we move on. Then after some distance, you see the shop owner taking the shutter up, opening the shop. You just see that part only and very rarely see the shopkeeper sitting in the shop.
Then we see many faces walking in opposite direction. The chubby girl with oversized goggles, mothers accompanying their kids for school, the toddler walking with his grandpa, to whom you make the faces just to make him laugh, again it’s strictly between you and the toddler.
Despite the lack of direct interaction, these encounters become ingrained in our daily lives, making a collage of our experiences. They become known to us, leaving an impression on our minds without any actual relationship.
When our routines change, and we move to new places, we encounter different faces, those known unknowns may fade from our immediate experience, but they can still hold a place in our memories. But when we come back again to those familiar places, we may find ourselves recollecting those moments and wondering what has become of the people we once saw regularly.
We don’t see the chubby girl or school going kids or the toddler, this time may be the shop owner may be busy, sitting in his shop, but all those things permanently make some space in our mind.
True?
