Everything around us is the outcome of someone trying a new thing at some point. Practically everything is a result of trying, giving a try. Whether it’s a simple paper clip or the Wright brothers tried to make the humankind fly. I believe those who take initiative, the “Triers” are the history makers.
Then there is another league, comparatively a big one, who just follows the regular, hesitant to go for anything new – same Misal Pav and tea, never trying a hotdog. Reading the same author, or watching the same hero in different acts. They are reluctant to try anything new and then sometimes repent for not doing so.
An average looking guy looking for a bride, given options of two sisters to choose from – one tall, fair, good looking, the other, second in all aspects, but this guy doesn’t give a try to choose the first one thinking, he himself is an average one and go for the second not so good looking. On honeymoon, his wife then tells him, that Didi wanted to marry with you but you chose me.
We heard the story of Jamai (son-in-law) denying the sweet kheer during the dinner and when tastes the one drop fallen on his wrist while serving; then at night het gets in kitchen for that kheer and caught red handed. Another big lesson for not trying, when opportunity was there.
I am commuting to office since last 2 months, always one metro route and not tried another, saving 20 minutes one side, despite knowing it and few days back had to go with one colleague on the other not tried route. I regretted not trying it so far and was wasting almost 40 minutes every day.
What may be the reasons for not trying – Lack of confidence, courage, not having enough time, afraid of change or new, getting embarrassed, or just the laziness. Every non-trier may have different reasons.
So, finally decided to give a try to writing, so won’t regret later of not attempting/trying this at least.
