We Indians are outspoken, verbose, sometimes blunt, but when it comes to discuss own good qualities, we shy away. Leave aside few exceptions. But we mostly try be modest, in-fact we have been taught these things since childhood, in school.
We try our best to be modest and maintain that we shouldn’t go overboard. But in our heart, we always want to show up, feeling proud of the achievements, the success we got. We like to shout out that, ‘see, I made it, haven’t I told you that I will do it’. We sometime do this, but to very small set of people – many a times to our parents but not restricted to them only.
You work hard in a job, get many accolades and then move on for next. Your boss knows that wherever you go, you will do better. Then when you prove yourself at other place, you get appreciation there, you still show modesty to your colleagues there, but send a small message to your ex-boss saying what you did and they too get happy to see it.
The roommates who were there in your struggle days, now all of you at different stages of career, but anything good happens, you tell them with a tight collar. Sometimes it may be your spouse, brother, teacher or anyone.
Lucky are those who have such people in their life, where we can freely boast on our achievements, to whom we open up, they too get happy, sometimes even more happier than us, no jealousy, no comparison, just pure joy of celebration.
Let’s share any such instances and also the person in your life with whom, you can be “You” only.
