Human Emotions – Join us on this journey to explore the many dimensions of it.

Simple Solutions

Recently, I came across a write-up mentioning that humans reached the moon first, yet it took almost 10-15 years to add wheels to our suitcases, evolving them into trolley bags. While the former achievement was driven by curiosity, the latter was born out of necessity. However, it’s intriguing to note that curiosity triumphed over necessity.

Human tendency often leads us to overlook minor issues while focusing on solving larger ones.

An oft-cited example of logical thinking is how the US invested millions in developing a pen that can write in space, while Russia simply used a pencil. Though the technicalities may vary, it highlights our inclination towards complex solutions over simple ones.

While science has made remarkable progress in curing numerous human disorders and diseases like high blood pressure, tension, and diabetes, we often neglect preventive measures to avoid situations where medication becomes necessary.

Reflecting on a lesson from school, where a child, feeling the heat while walking barefoot in summer, contemplated covering the entire earth to escape it, only to realize that wearing sandals would suffice, underscores our tendency to opt for complicated routes over simpler solutions.

Whether driven by curiosity or a lack of foresight, we sometimes strive for the impossible when a simple solution, like putting sandals on our own feet, suffices.
