‘Grow up’ – it’s a trap!

In popular F.R.I.E.N.D.S series, the famous character Ross Geller, seen visiting his family doctor, a pediatrician.

The strange thing is, he visits pediatrician despite being a grown up man. That scene in the series is hilarious.

When did we grow up, when did we start visiting doctors other than pediatricians or for that matter started doing things like grown-up guys do.

The fine line that demarcates from kids to grown-ups, I was never able to see, and my readers, please let me know if you did.

We generally see, when two or multiple things travelling with same speed in same direction, then both of them look static to each other.

Similar way, everything around us moving with the relative speed of ours. we grow up with our friends, cousins, then why do we change so much from what we were as kids.

If everything happening with same speed, then when does this transition happen?

When did we stop laughing out loud? Why did we stop playing soccer with that stone on the foot path? When did we stop gesturing good-byes to those unknown faces we see through windows of the trains, buses we are travelling in?

The physical changes are seen and experienced as well but the changes in the heart, mind — difficult to trace.

RESPONSIBILITIES…yes this can be a reason differentiating a kid from a grown up man.

Sometimes I think, a grown-up man is a kid, but with responsibilities.

It made us stop laughing at small things, make unnecessarily serious about lot of things in life, it says if you behave like a kid then you will seem less responsible.

Society values people who are responsible or at least show themselves as serious or responsible and rarely those, who are still child at the heart.

But those who still are bubbly at the heart understands the clear meaning of life.

Only they know why to run behind the butterflies without no reason, watch the rainbow, get drenched in the rain and mainly not get down with the defeats life throw at them.

I want to be that person, I want to be at the pediatrician all my life, same like Ross Geller. I don’t want to be and feel like a grown-up guy, it’s a trap literally.
