As I am writing here since last one year, I gone through many of the good writers’ posts.
Each with something specific, sometimes writing about in general or sometimes niche.
I have read, not only WordPress, but many other platforms. You need to find a niche to attract and grow your base, which ultimately helps for monetization.
I, for that matter, always find it difficult to find a niche for myself. For me it’s like to find out what my life’s objective is, which I haven’t yet found and in one of my posts I clearly mentioned it.
I read one writer and her posts about nostalgic moments from Kerala, my heart too went to my native and wrote something about my native, childhood.
Then I read something about love, reminded about my lost love, and it helped me to write few stanzas with a headline “Without You”.
Frankly speaking, I am very poor at rhyming, but don’t know how it conceived and within 15-20 minutes that poem was there on the platform.
I saw one smoking guy, I went back to my Mumbai days, wherein I used to accompany my smoker friends 2-3 times in day during office hours.
I always wanted to smoke, but couldn’t, but thought I should write on the whole process, I got few likes as well, I think it related with those ones.
Sometime back, with the day in and day out of AI news, I put an article whether it will be able to give a human touch in our lives.
So, when we talk about niche, can “open to all topics” be a niche in itself? Would it attract the people from all the writing domains to enjoy or if not enjoy just to glance through.
I read before joining this platform, how it helps writers to come to the timelines of other readers/writers.
I am followed by an AI enthusiast, other who writes about world economy, one research scholar writing about finance, software master and digital marketer as well.
Obviously I can’t say here why they followed me, but those whom I followed are also from different domains. I liked what they put and I enjoy their write-ups.
In our life, whether someone is a technical guy, medical guy, finance or school teacher, each of us touch and get touched on various things in daily life.
There are likes of Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Late Charlie Munger used to read from across the domains. Their objective might be different.
We too, as common guys go through lot of different types of articles without thinking about any niche. We love ‘Kafka on the shore’ by Haruki Murakami in same way like the ‘Losing my virginity’ by Sir Richard Branson to ‘Batatyachi Chal’ by Indian regional author Late P L Deshpande.
All above may seem a futile try that I am overtly trying to put my point. But I think this is what is the fact is.
I really would like to know what you all think and it would be great if you help me decide on this.
Eagerly awaiting your revert.
