Like many kids, I was always eager and looked forward to my birthday. Second important things was to gather all friends and enjoy and the first was to get so many gifts.
After the birthday party, there was a big curiosity opening and looking at all my gifts.
Receiving gifts gives a different kind of joy and gifts are always welcome.
But my favourite gift was a special and unique one.
In my first job, a market research firm, wherein I spent almost three years, during send-off, I received a customised greeting card, almost an A3 size.
It had all the special moments captured in my tenure there. It also had individual hand-written messages for me from all my colleagues.
When I received that card, I couldn’t control myself and my eyes gave in.
That send-off was one of the most beautiful memories I have and I will cherish it till my last breath.
That greeting card has a special place in one of my briefcase, which is meant for all such antique pieces.
Whenever I feel nostalgic and open that pandora’s box, I always take out that greeting, read all the personalised messages and re-live those days.
Few gifts in life are not just material things. It’s the emotions attached to it that matter the most.
