The Secret Skill of Emotional Connection

Everyone has some skill, unique to himself/herself.

Knowingly, unknowingly it’s seen.

I am proud of and I must say that I am not boasting for myself, but I have that one special thing in me.

“People find a trusted friend in me and always open up upto any level.”.

This I found since my childhood and experiencing till now.

They find its better to speak to me and take out everything.

Its not just about my male friends, but female friends as well.

From kids, to married ones and upto old age guys.

I remember one of my colleague, a married woman with a kids, how she opened up with the issues in daily life. Even talking about few personal matters, which I can’t reveal here.

My roommates, talking about their family life, how difficult to cope up.

But I never found them discussing it with other roommates.

Colleagues, relatives, even co-passengers meeting me for an hour or two.

This opening up of theirs creates an unending bond with me, which I too try not to lose on.

When I was in a Pharma company, few doctors from Egypt came visiting Indian facility, then one of the female doctors and one aged Dr professor told me many things about their personal life, just within 2-3 days of span.

I don’t know, whether I am exaggerating this, but whenever all the above end their discussion, they keep their hand on my shoulder saying, they feel relieved post speaking to me.

I think, I just listen to them, rarely I give any solution (I feel I am not capable to give solutions), but sometimes I speak and I talk the fact ‘as it is’.

This make them think as well.

I am happy that people find me a ‘confidante’ in me.

Many times my wife gets uneasy with this, but I can’t help.

And I thank God for this skill/quality/nature of mine.
