How to Say No Without Guilt

Daily writing prompt
How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Saying “No” is a big ‘No’ for me.

The upbringing of ours is such that, we should always respect others.

Even if I have to request something to the ChatGPT or any AGI, and I am requesting for one more time, I put it as “Please will you”.

So, such behaviour doesn’t allow to say NO to anyone in any case.

Yes, that affects in very bad way, but can’t help.

Then it drags our own work, it goes on the back burner, when giving time to others.

But I think, saying NO is very brutal, I try hearing what is the issue and accordingly decide, how urgent the case is.

If it can be doable with a decision of yes/no, I do it irrespective of the job I am at, and if not, then kindly request the person to give me sometime to think.

This way, the others won’t get annoyed that I haven’t heard their concerns and I too feel okay that I respected them.

But inside, I feel, we should be upfront because these interruptions caused by ‘not saying NO’, affects the work in big way.
