Embracing Change: Technology’s Role in Our Careers

One of the important questions, I must say.

And answer to this is a big YES. Technology, not only changed how we do our job but also changed the way we live our life.

There is nothing that is not touched by technology in today’s time.

Being a millennial, since I started the job, I am used to work with e-mails, internet and computers were not new to me.

But the spate of changes, innovation in this field, literally changed everything.

Wheel, fire, steam engine, electricity, then internet. The latter one made so many changes, in such a short span, that it outdid all other innovations.

Every day something new is coming up and the one invented sometime back getting outdated.

Talking about it’s impact on my job, it’s tremendous, I must say.

Mobiles just started that time, means the call rates were just getting affordable for the masses.

Calls and SMSes were the only means. Now most of the work happens on WhatsApp and no one takes the efforts to write those lengthy, meaningful mails.

Those days, once you leave office, its a disconnect between the private and professional life, which is greatly missed now because of the onslaught of the technology.

Being in media and marketing, there too are many changes. The traditional TV, Print are shifting to digital.

FB, Insta, Twitter are the means to get connected to the consumers and customers.

General trade, Modern trade seem like passé, and E-commerce is the one which is ruling.

It’s benefitting businesses in great way, but its effect on personal life is inversely proportional.

You ask anyone about pros and cons of technology, the cons will be too many in numbers.

My personal view.
