A difficult prompt to answer.
Legacy – a lasting impact and the way they will be remembered for generations to come
This is the definition I found on internet.
I feel, leaving a legacy behind is not optional. At least for the people who lived with and spent your life, it stays there.
But that should not be called as a ‘legacy’ in real terms. It can be called as memories or the manners, the home or the surrounding people follows.
Legacy is left by the great people. Who has done something beyond a common man is able to.
I don’t mean that common man can’t leave a legacy, in fact those big, larger than life people all were common man only. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teressa, and so many.
Now about the prompt, I can’t even imagine myself in the league of these people, my stature is too small even to touch that line.
So, if asked, what I have to leave behind is the good memories, those playful moments, which I spent with my loved ones and even with unknown people, whom I met somewhere in the journey of life.
Strive for those small moments of happiness, if not happiness, then to be with them in times of difficulty. It’s okay if you can’t be of any help, but just let them know that you are there with them. Even that too meant a lot.
So, no legacy, just memories. That’s it!
