
Almost half [49%] of the Britons admitting purchasing small treats when feeling down. This behavior is even more prominent within the age bracket of 18-34 which is almost 2/3rd [67%].

They call it doom spending. Also while doing this, they don’t even think of the spending they are doing irrespective of what they have or earn.
People around us always talking to enjoy the life, we don’t know about tomorrow, life is uncertain. Moreover we see lot of movies, emphasizing this with an inspiring story, good cast with exotic locations.
Even various brands too showcase it to the consumers in order to let them splurge more.
We fall for it. We go on in literally similar way in what shown in the movies or get carried away by the brand commercials.
We enjoy that particular day and moment. But then…
As we say ‘we live once’ doesn’t mean we live only one day…obviously there is another day, a new tomorrow awaits for us.
“Live once” is terminology which says about the whole life we spend here on the earth.
And that whole life needs a constant earning before you plan to play it the way you want.
We see how conservative were our grand-parents and for that matter our parents as well. How they always used to think about ‘saving for the rainy days’.
My mother used to save some milk, even it’s a half a cup for the night, saying if some relatives come, we should have the milk for making the tea.
Same culture flows through us as well [who are termed as millennials]. Buy the so called Gen Z doesn’t even want to give it a thought.
Born with having everything with such an ease, make them think everything is easy and it’s okay to live in the moment.
No patience at all. No doubt companies coming up with many plans like “by now, pay later”, credit cards – a biggest example of encouraging such mentality.
They forget that this behavior of them going to catch hold of them one day for sure.
Please don’t mistake me here, I am nowhere saying we shouldn’t enjoy, or go beyond sometimes, but making it everyday thing won’t help us.
