As a writer when should I get happy. Since I started writing and specifically on this own website, have come across many write-ups talking about emotions, fun, how to write better and obviously the earnings.
So, when do a writer gets happy. When he gets an idea, when he/she able to word it better, found a suitable title to it and also a picture to make it complete, then putting it on the respective platform, the satisfying feeling that finally able to convert a mere idea into words the exact way one wanted it
OR
Post putting it, how many people read it, how many interacted with the story, how many followers they got, how many claps or shares and then finally WHAT IS THE EARNING FROM THE STORY?
I think there are the stages which give happiness to the writer.
It’s the same game of “needs and wants”. But what comes first depends on the respective writers.
Few novice like me get on the cloud 9, when able to put it and publish it. Even one clap or a few comments make us feel like a king. These are our needs right now.
Then we dig in further reading other writers. We see how others are getting thousands of shares and hundreds of comments. How they are having followers in multiples of K’s.
Then start this comparison game and somewhere the “wants” start to get in.
The earlier an idea, or if got hurt by someone or some situation, an experience, or a nostalgic moment makes us sit and get us pen the story. Just for self-satisfaction.
Which then take a place of a compulsive writer, a rage to write something, pushing self for to write something or other compulsorily.
Push the publish button and like a curious kid who just saw the seed in the ground and waiting for the plant to come up within a day.
Many a times I feel myself like a pendulum reaching out to these two extreme levels – sometime just write and relieve myself and then next go to check the numbers – followers, likes, comments and the earnings.
Let’s see how it goes. Anyone with the same feelings here, help me how did you cope up with, would love to know.
