I am a law-abiding citizen. Breaking laws is the last thing on my mind and intentionally, it’s a complete NO from my side.
But yes, sometimes these laws, though very much needed, make us feel unnecessary. we feel as hurdles in daily things. Just like following the traffic signals at late night. Stop till it turns to Green to proceed, even if there is no traffic on the road. That wait of a minute or two feels stressing.
Like these there are many. I don’t break it even that time of night and never allow my family to do that.
But there are certain times, it happens. Like last week, I went to meet my friends at the railway station.
They were coming from somewhere and in my city the train had a small halt of 5-10 minutes. I left on time, but due to traffic I got delayed.
In that rush, I forgot to buy the platform ticket and I just rushed to the platform where train is supposed to come.
I realised it as soon as I started climbing the stairs to the platform. But then if I had gone back, I could have missed the meet, I carried on, thinking, if caught I would pay the penalty.
During that 30 minutes at the station and also during the discussion, I was constantly thinking of this penalty and what if I get caught.
Thankfully, I came out without getting checked, but I made a point, it’s always better to go by the law/rule for mental satisfaction.
