Why Do I Write?

Since the time I started writing, as soon as I post anything, I keep waiting for any kind of reaction on it, seldom I get any. I am thankful and sorry as well for the incorrect sentences, wordings, spelling mistakes, messages etc.

Like the kid, who has been told that the father will come with some surprise in the evening, the way he keeps waiting for his father, exactly same way I keep checking if I got any reaction. I hope this must be the case with almost everyone who puts something or other on the social media. Instant gratification, they say.

Before putting it on the media, there always used to be some anxiousness, similar like the one has before facing the interview. What will one say, its not correct, that word I shouldn’t have put, I shouldn’t have written about that instance with my colleague, how would he feel about it? These and many.

But lately I don’t feel any of the above, as most of the write-ups are either own experiences or the emotional entangles I had at certain point of time. It may be about personal life, nostalgia, work related, relations or just daily routine.

I do get some regular feedback, reactions from very select few contacts, connections, I thank them always. But I need to mention that, so far whatever I put in my write-up, almost all the write-ups got at least one unique reaction mostly from someone new.

Whenever I have any concerns with my own write-ups, someone from the connection reverted saying, I liked what you wrote and felt in similar way. That one reaction/response encourages me for my next.

Now I almost stopped waiting for any reaction, because I think as a common man, many like me facing the same situation somewhere in their life. I just try to word it and when it touches someone, they like it saying that there is someone with similar thinking, going through same situation.

This feeling of empathy gives strength, support,  to that reader and that’s what motivates me to write.

Thanks!

Vb
