‘There is no looking back’, we hear people saying this. What does this mean?
We start somewhere, from zero. We stumble, struggle then slowly learn the ropes.
The people around us, a churn in them depending on the steps we climb in life.
The needs, the emotions of that time, the value we give to each one of them, their words.
A satisfaction at the end of the day, despite sleeping hungry on few days.
Continuing the ride, sometimes get really frustrated with the ups and downs.
Don’t know whether our life is ‘just the journey’ or we will ever be able to make it to the destination.
Times change – with the unending grind, overcoming the tears, struggles, with no confidence to a firmness, we stand with an authority now.
We came a long way. Now, in this journey almost everything changes. Nothing remains the same except the bodily figures – self and those close ones around us.
We keep moving forward.
The basics, for which we used to struggle are all taken care of, in-fact those are not even in considerations now.
The urge, the thirst we had earlier, we still have it. We still struggle, we still fall and stand up, get in the grind.
But all this for the changed goals, for the new aspirations.
We keep running behind – to earn one more trophy, to reach to the next position, to add one more zero in our accounts.
This “one more” never ends. Moreover it definitely doesn’t give the same satisfaction we had when we solved the basics for the life.
In our heart, we still long for that struggle, the journey, which once we thought is a painful, we find it more fulfilling than the journey we are at.
Every success at this stage of life are satisfying the egos of self. The working, efforts go to caress the mind over heart.
Basics still the same – food for a day, clothes to cover and shelter to keep safe.
But now, at this stage of life – the basic food changes to exotic ones, the clothes just to cover self, come with costlier tags, the shelter becomes a palace.

The more you keep going up the ladder, more and more people keep saluting you, then the salute is not just only thing you needed, you want them to kneel down.
You keep going, expecting to be the one, only one, at the top of the world.
Here you stop caring for the values, expectations, emotions of others, your closed ones and yours too.
The thirst to be the ‘one and only’ blinds you about your surroundings. Anything coming in between seems as an impediment and need to be removed ruthlessly.
But we forgot about the ‘Karma’. We can’t skip it. It makes us bend, gives no choice but to give-in.
It halts our race and make us think, ponder on where we are and what we became.
We see self at the top of the world, but it also shows what we lost in the mad rush of ‘to be at the top’.
You think of going back to same little world, but the connections we broke, the speed with which we went ahead keeping the others behind, won’t allow that.
You have only one way, to proceed with the chosen path.
This time unwillingly, because, this time you are not doing it because you want it, but just because you can’t avoid it.
You keep walking the path, the path of no return.
