As a Maharashtrian ( a state in 🇮🇳), it’s perfect time to have POHE (rice flakes).
Pohe has a special place in our heart.
It’s quick and easy to make, no special expertise needed.
It can be cooked or in urgency, you can just add water, tomato, spices, onion and it’s ready.
It also has a significance in a special ceremony when the people from boy’s side come to see the girl’s home first time for marriage proposal.
That time the nomenclature of this snack is KANDE POHE – rice flakes gaenished with onion.
Also pohe has a reference in Indian mythology. Just read that when all Pandavas were in exile and Sage Durvasa visited them, then Draupadi made pohe for them.
