First Computer

Write about your first computer.

Computers 🖥 are always an attraction to me, even now as well.

I always prefer computer – a desk top over tablet or laptop.

But to put my fingers over a keyboard, I literally had to wait for my first year of engineering.

Till then, computers were like a magic box for me. Wherever I saw it, I used to stop for a while and wonder how things might work in that small box.

As we were not from computers branch, only once a week, for 45 minutes, we used to work in the computers lab, and that too two students on a single PC.

But during post graduation one of my roommates had his own Personal computer.

There I gained a proficiency on how to operate. Till then, my interaction with computers was like, I always used to get afraid that something will be damaged from my side.

As a kid, I never used to touch the remote control of a TV, when I visited some relatives who had color TV. The only fear, that I will press some button and don’t know what will happen.

My first own PC I bought post marriage, for my wife, who is interested in programming that time.

But post kids and all, it is lying there with no major use. It travelled me across the country, where I got transferred because of jobs.

Few changes and modifications done over time. Now my kid uses it for his school purpose and we for listening to songs.

I have certain emotions attached to it. It has its own space at home, irrespective of locations we changed so far and it will always have a space in our heart forever.

It’s a family member now.
