How the Internet Revolutionized Our Lives

The most important invention in your lifetime is…

Fire, wheel, electricity, industrial revolution, telecommunication, internet, and now AI. These are the few inventions which brought a tremendous revolution in human life.

And lately, the speed of the inventions is beyond our imagination.

But in my life, I think ‘internet’ is the one which has a big influence on me and my generation.

I think its my generation only, who observed more than 2 bigger inventions. Internet, mobiles (a by product of telecom) and AI.

Its my generation who used to write letters (pen and paper) at one point of time and now switched to e-mails.

Its us only, who used to get help of reference books for any new topic, then switched to Google and now its easily available to us via ChatGpt, Perplexity, Anthropic and recent Deepseek.

Internet seems a base to all this.

Again, we were who stood in long queues for train tickets, literally have to move our bums and visit banks and other offices to pay bills, which are done just at the fingertips with a mobile and internet connection.

We had to wait for ‘Chitrahar’, ‘Chhayageet’, and ‘Rangoli’ to watch songs and had to sit in-front of TV, which we can literally watch at any time and anywhere, thanks to internet.

We were the ones who used the STD/ISD calls to connect to family and relatives. With internet connection, we can talk and see as well them now.

But, one thing is for sure, this new invention, which meant bring together, taking everyone far far away from each other.

Somehow I hate this, but can’t help.
