Lessons in Winning and Losing from Sibling Rivalry

When we say family, it is meant that all the members are there for our good only.

I know, there can be some issues and concerns and those stay within the family and seldom come out.

I would like to mention a very small thing from my childhood and about my elder brother and myself.

I think I was around 13-14 years old and my elder brother 2 years old than me.

I remember we were playing carrom, we played 4-5 games and in all the games I lost.

I was getting desperate and restless that I was not winning.

He saw that on my face and suddenly after sometime, I felt many of his shots got missed, sometimes even the simple ones.

He ensured that, I should not feel that he is letting me win, but in the end he did.

That game I won, second one also I won, but when I was on the verge of winning the third one, I doubted it.

When I started to check on that, he said he had some homework to do and stopped.

That small thing, impacted me a lot. It showed that winning is always not needed, sometimes letting others win and be happy for their happiness means a lot.

Now, while playing with my nieces and my kid, sometimes I too do the same and feel happy for their joy that they defeated me, despite being a kid.
