So Many Things…

Daily writing prompt
What makes you nervous?

For me, the ideal question would be “What Wouldn’t?”.

From childhood till now, I am in early fifties now, but the nervousness is the only thing, which accompanying me like a shadow.

Many reasons make me nervous, and it always need not be a big one.

Whether I will be able to get relieved in time and done with the bath, finish breakfast and will be able to reach office in time, makes me nervous, almost everyday.

The train is scheduled after an hour and a half, I will reach the station well within the time, but I feel a strange nervousness, till the time I will be seated in my seat.

I shouldn’t mention how many times, I felt it during interviews.

It stuck to me from school time facing vivas.

Other things making me nervous –

  • Meeting new people
  • What to talk to people I know
  • Office meetings
  • Attending parent teacher meets (even now attending as a parent)
  • Catching the bus/train/plane
  • Future of my family
  • Fear of unknown
  • Thinking about the job
  • TOO MANY THINGS

  1. Have some patience (which is skill)…

Don’t get too much disturbed by most of the things.

Rather…I would suggest: listen to them, hear and sense them. What people are saying? What they’re demanding? How things are moving forward?
What immediately you can do and what you can’t?

Avoid the negative responses. But do interact with other people. Ask for help. Ask for suggestion.
Maintain kindness and empathy to yourself and others. Be comfortable being you and start liking what you do.

Let the frustration come out. Express your fears and insecurities.
The fear of unknown doesn’t exists. It’s just a fear, probably in your mind and heart. No one hears it. No one knows it.
And you can choose to ignore and leave that… completely and confidently.

Most of the worries belongs to the past and the future. We worry for something which’s inaccessible.
Because if we can act or do something with it why would be worry.

Then it’s okay to feel little nervous. Everyone feel nervous in some circumstances.
If you don’t feel an emotion, you are not a human or probably dead human.

    1. Loku thanks buddy. Sometimes we know everything, but we can’t act. But I shall try.

      1. Things are different in your life than the way they are in my life. You have lived double to my current age. So my words have limited scope to apply in any context.

        1. Experiences I should say. But it’s not universal. Many people are there who are always confident. Look up to them.
